About Us

Capillary Learning is part of Capillary Consulting Inc. It focuses on learning, training, education and facilitation of skills for change, leadership and organizational development.

Began in 2014 as part of a focus to build change competence and capacity for organizations, demand for its unique and very interactive learning opportunities quickly accelerated.

In 2015 the first Certified Change Agent workshop was delivered and by the end of the year the first Certified Change Agents were accredited. Striving to continuously balance the need for current learning with progressive has led to a continuously expanding portfolio of qualifications, courses and workshops. In 2019 the Certified Change Leader and Certified Lego Serious Play Change Facilitator Workshops were delivered adding to the qualifications.

This decade, while beginning with challenge, will offer opportunities for new facilitators and international learning partners to join us in delivering our portfolio and become part of our global community.

Jacqueline Kappers

Associate Facilitator

Jacqueline has wondered about the viability of the impossible, asked inconvenient questions, and stirred the pot in organizations in several countries, over several decades. With a background in organizational development, marketing, and adult education, she’s created programmes, new ways of thinking about old problems, and been a change catalyst for not-for-profits, national- and international government organizations, and financial institutions in The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, and Canada.

Experience with failed change initiatives led her to conclude that training without on-going support for learning had only temporary results and that people don’t adopt change easily, despite clearly communicated vision and benefits. A passion for learning exactly how the brain adapts to change and for identifying the root cause of resistance was born. Jacqueline has discovered she is a pioneer in a new but steadily emerging approach to change management, which focuses on minimizing resistance and maximizing adoption by preparing those impacted by change for the losses as well as the benefits. She is currently conducting research for a book introducing a new model for change, preparing a Ted Talk on grief, loss, and change, and completing the PCC coaching accreditation.

When she is not teaching, coaching, speaking, writing, or volunteering with the Association of Change Management Professionals or Toronto Change Days, Jacqueline can be found with her nose in a good book and an unreasonably large mug of Earl Grey, thinking big thoughts while hiking or swimming, or playing with her three children in London, ON.

Shawn Draisey

Associate Facilitator

Shawn Draisey is a CCA graduate Feb 2017 cohort and has been involved with Capillary Consulting since 2016.

He has been active with the Toronto chapter of ACMP 2016-2018, Toronto Change Days (2019 workshop facilitator, 2020 program selection committee) as well as supporting the global change days movement. Shawn is one of the co-founders of the Toronto Church of Change along with being a Glocomnet facilitator of the FAUC Framework and is an active member in the Toronto Chapter of VUCA Canvas practitioners.

Shawn has an educational background in Career Development and has worked day jobs in corporate recruitment, not for profit career development and executive search/head hunting. At current his educational pursuits are TOC (Theory of Constraints), Blue Ocean Shift, Design Thinking and PMI CAPM designation.

His mantra for change is to pay attention, ask questions, have fun, use imagination and be conscious of your values.
